Are you interested in learning about costume-making and designing, creating live
performance and event management?

Oceanallover are looking for three dedicated young people to work alongside us as part of
our projects in 2025. You will need to be between 18 and 25 years old and be able to show
that you have a strong interest in the Arts. Some previous experience would be useful but
not essential.

You will have the opportunity to work as part of our project team and make a
real contribution towards the creation and presentation of the company’s work this year.
You will be given the opportunity to learn new skills from professional artists and to find out
how a small independent Arts company operates. Within your internship you can focus on
one aspect of the work, or choose to take a more broad look at what we do.

You will be required to work as part of a team. You will also be given some space to
consider your own work work with help from our mentors.
These internships are open for application to young people of all abilities, genders and
ethnic backgrounds. Our selection process will give preference to people who are keen,
sincere and have a strong talent or interest in the Arts.

What we are offering:

• Learning new skills as part of a 24 day mentored placement with Oceanallover.
• Support with the development of your own creative ideas.
• A stipend of £1,440 (£60 per day) along with expenses for travel.
• The opportunity to work as part of a professional team making live performance events.
Internship Requirements:
• You should be between 18 and 25 years old.
• Be able to demonstrate a strong connection to Dumfries and Galloway through family or
residence in the region.
• Have a strong interest in the Arts, and are considering the Arts as a potential career
choice.
• Be available to commit to 24 days of mentored work from June 2025 until November
2025.
• Demonstrate a responsible attitude to work and be able to manage your own time well.
• Our studio is in a rural location outside Moniaive village. You will need to be able to get
to Moniaive and transport to the studio can be arranged from there if you don’t cycle or
drive.
