At UP YER AIRTS it’s all about putting on events that YOU want to see. We want to hear your ideas so we can help you make them a reality. If you want an event to LOVE to see happen, we’ll support you to DO IT YOURSELF.
The DIY Fund
What is it?
THE DIY FUND IS OPEN AGAIN IN FEBRUARY 2026
Got a Creative Idea? Let’s Make It Happen.
Are you a young person aged 15-25 in Dumfries & Galloway with a creative spark? Got an idea that’s been buzzing in your head – a song you want to write, an event you want to run, a film you want to make, a skill you’ve been dying to learn, or something totally out there?
This is your chance to make it real.
The DIY Fund is here to help you explore your creativity your way. You can apply for up to £1000 to support your idea, and you’ll have six months from June to December 2025 to plan, create, experiment and bring it to life.
There are six places available on the programme this year.
At the end of your project, you’ll send us a short report (written/video/whatever works for you) to tell us what you did, what you learned, and how it went.
How to apply:
Applications are now closed until 2026
Keep an eye out for updates but in the meantime, here is the process of applying:
Send an email to hello@upyerairts.com with the following info:

Applications are open now. Got questions? Drop us a line, we’re here to help.
What will Up Yer Airts fund?
We are really flexible with what we will fund, so if you’re unsure it’s best to ask us. Some examples of what you might want to do could be:
- Record a single with your band.
- Put on an event ( a gig, an exhibition, a fundraiser, a rave)
- Make a piece of Art
- Make a film/documentary
- Rent a piece of equipment to help you create something
- Research an idea you want to build on
- THE LIST GOES ON!
