Salary: £14.00 per hour.

Responsible to: Marketing & Communications Lead

Locations: In person at Loreburn Hall and online, to be discussed and agreed with the Marketing & Communications Lead.

Background

ARTS D&G presents high quality programmes of performing arts events, participation and development throughout each year across Scotland’s third largest geographic region. Through the theatre, music, dance, film, comedy and spoken word performances and participation we organise and promote, we inspire and connect audiences and participants throughout Dumfries & Galloway with local and national artists’ work, we stimulate meaningful community participation and engagement, and we celebrate the transformative power of the arts. Through our programmes and activities, we also support, nurture and help develop the creative quality, ambition, innovation and skills of performing arts practitioners who live and work in the region.

UP YER AIRTS works with young people and emerging artists across Dumfries and Galloway, providing creative development opportunities, mentoring, and pathways into professional practice.

Key Responsibilities

  • Creation of content for ARTS D&G and Up Yer Airts social media, using Canva alongside the Marketing & Communications Lead
  • Live content creation at events- taking photos and videos and posting them to update audiences in real time
  • Work with the Marketing & Communications Lead to create marketing schedules for Arts Live, Dumfries and Galloway Arts Festival, Up Yer Airts programs and other opportunities our organisation develops
  • Copy writing for ARTS D&G and Up Yer Airts social media, in liaison with the Marketing & Communications Lead
  • Scheduling of social media (Instagram and Facebook) content, using Meta Business Suite
  • Engaging with online audience- replying to comments, messages, liking, sharing partners posts on stories; using Facebook community groups to share information.
  • Contact and collate marketing content from performing companies, partner organisations and artists to create promotional material
  • Research marketing trends and develop social media channels.

This position is a pilot opportunity for Up Yer Airts and ARTS D&G, to help increase our organisation’s capacity. Other organisations in Dumfries & Galloway may also be interested in buying amounts of the successful applicant’s time to increase their capacity by utilising the social media skills on offer. This would be in addition to this position’s contractual terms and conditions.

While this may be of interest to the successful applicant, this would be a separate contractual arrangement, acceptance of which – or non-acceptance, because of life-work balance – will not affect the selection process in any way. At this stage we only want to highlight this possibility for the position’s further development and expansion.
